May 6, 2022

Summer 2022 BMCC-Hunter ABI Faculty Seminar Series
Theme: Mental Health, Wellness, and Identity in the Classroom (Hybrid)
We invite BMCC and Hunter adjunct and full-time instructors from all disciplines to participate in a June hybrid seminar series. The series will focus on how we can thoughtfully integrate students’ racial/cultural experiences as well as their mental health into our teaching practice. Through guided discussions, guest speakers, and independent and group project time, participants will learn, discuss, and reflect on their students’ classroom experiences and then create and share a teaching innovation (e.g. class activity, assignment/project, teaching tool, etc.) for a course they plan to teach in Fall 2022 or later. Participants who attend all sessions and complete a teaching innovation for a future course will receive a stipend of $500.
Kickoff: Wednesday May 25, 11-12:30pm (Online)
Seminar Sessions:
Wed 6/1 – 12:30-3:30pm (In-Person @ Hunter, Lunch Provided)
