Anti-Asian Hate Safety Training

October 11, 2022 @ 4:00 pm - 6:00 pm

With the increase in hate crimes and violence directed towards our East Asian, South Asian, Southeast Asian, and Pacific Islander communities, many students are experiencing stress when commuting and being in public areas.  On Tuesday October 11, join us for an in-person safety training from 4 – 6pm.  Learn techniques and skills focused on situational awareness and verbal de-escalation. Stay for a mental health debrief space to discuss experiences and thoughts about training if you’d like (optional).

This event will be capped at 45 participants.

4 – 5:30p: Skill-building, training in safety skills, facilitated by Immigrant Social Services and Nonviolent Peaceforce
5:30 – 6p: Mental Health Debrief Space to Discuss Recent Experiences, Thoughts about Training (optional)
Location: HW 417
